Visit: Visit the Hidden Paris, Rue Montorgueil, 75002 Paris France

We will visit the only medieval castle within metro distance of the city of Paris.  My commented tour will provide the context & historical background for this unique location – to help you better understand the “how” and “why” of a typical medieval castle.

We will take the metro from Paris to the castle.  Along the way, I will explain to you & your family about life in the Middle Ages using researched documentation, photos & pictures.  You will learn how people lived in the Middle Ages, how the Castle was constructed & its history – from royal palace to prison.

We will then visit the castle itself, touring the entire building from the top of the battlements down to the dungeons.  We will take the drawbridge over the moat & enter through the main tower. Then we will visit the keep & its residential area. We’ll make the rounds on the wooden terrace which commands views for miles around. We will climb a dizzying spiral staircase to the top of the castle & visit the battlements with its bell tower, just like the solders who once guarded the castle. Then we will descend into the dungeons & servant’s quarter

Along the way I will provide commentary on life in the Middle Ages, how the king & his court lived. I will provide the historical context to help you & your kids learn abut life in the Middle Ages!  Your kids will love it
