What to Expect When Visiting Paris, Ile-de-France, France

On this full-day, guided tour, you will discover the best of Burgundy. This small-group tour will take you to a vineyard in Chablis, a Michelin-star local restaurant for lunch (included in price) and the old city of Auxerre. The tour includes wine-tasting, transport by an air-conditioned minivan and hotel pickup and drop-off (for selected Paris hotels only).

Following pickup from your Paris hotel, you will head to the Burgundy region, renowned for its delicious French wines and stunning landscapes. The duration of your road trip will be around 2 hours, during which your guide/driver will regale you with stories about the region.

Your first stop will provide you with an incredible chance to taste different types of wine, made at one of the most recognizable vineyards in Burgundy, Chablisien. If the weather permits, you’ll taste the wines outside in front of the vineyard. You will be  led by a local French wine producer who knows all the secrets and traditions of wine-making, which he will share.

Afterwards, you will go to the charming city of Chablis, famed world-wide for its wines. As one of the significant gastronomic centers of Burgundy, it offers a vast variety of top-notch, local restaurants. Your guide will, then, take you to a Michelin-star restaurant where you will savor an authentic lunch, consisting of 7 plates made from local organic products. Each couple will also get a bottle of Chablis wine. The meal usually takes approximately 90 minutes.

Following lunch, you will head to the city of Auxerre, which has been in existence since the Gallo-Roman times. As you walk along old-paved, narrow streets (protected and classified by UNESCO), you will behold the Medieval Clock Tower and The Abbey of Saint-Germain d’Auxerre.

Finally, you will head back to Paris, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
