Saint Tropez is an ancient greek then roman village — its name comes from the legend of Torpes, a centurion of the roman army who was decapitated by the order of Nero because of his religion.
His body was placed in a small boat which drifted out to sea and landed on the beach here. He became a famous martyr and the catholic community decided to build a city in his name in this place. Stopover with free time at leisure for visiting & lunch on your own.
