To start your visit, you will enjoy the wonderful panoramic view on the pier to see by outside the two contemporain museum (MUCEM and Villa Valmer), before discovering the Fort Saint-Jean made by Louis the 14. Good opportunity to understand how the past and the modernism of Marseille are closely connected.

Let’s leave the pier to get a very nice panoramic view of the Port by Le Panier. The oldest district of France was founded by the Ancient Greek and kept its so pictural mood despite the destruction during the World War 2.

Stop At: Place Villeneuve-Bargemon, Marseille France
After passing by Le Panier streets, you will discover the Bargemon square. Real mix between the renaissance, baroque and néo-classical architecture, it’s where we can find the Marseille City Hall and one of the oldest hospital of France : l’Hôtel Dieu.

After crossing la Canebière, you will discover the Opéra district with the marvelous Art Nouveau Theater. Then, will go back to the Old Port to enjoy the fish market and admire the mirror roof created by Norman Foster.
