It was initially part of the city’s fortifications and later transformed into a public square.

Construction of the cathedral began in 1180 and continued for several centuries, with major parts completed by the 15th century.

Traboules date back to the Renaissance and even earlier. They were originally built to provide residents with direct access to water sources, like the Saône River, and later to facilitate the silk trade.

The theatre dates back to Roman times, specifically built around 15 BC under the reign of Emperor Augustus.

It is one of the oldest Roman theaters in France.

The Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière is an architectural masterpiece that combines Byzantine and Romanesque styles.

Designed by Pierre Bossan, its unique design features four octagonal towers and a richly decorated façade.
