Day 1: Chambord & Cheverny

Visit the 17th century chateau which still belongs to the same family today! Watch the 140 hunting dogs get fed by the professional trainers, and stroll around their vines and English-style pond.

440 rooms, 282 chimneys, 82 staircases including the famous double helix central staircase designed by Da Vinci, Chambord is a work of art. Once a hunting lodge, many times a prize for military leaders, this government-owned gem continues to impress.

This castle hosts 4 architectural periods in one, making it the most interesting chateau in terms of history. Learn about Louis XII, Francis I, their lives at court and the central place of Blois in France during the 16th century!
