Visit: Le Chateau du Clos Luce – Parc Leonardo da Vinci, 2 rue du clos Luce, 37400, Amboise France
Visit Clos Lucé, one of the most famous mansions in all of France, the place, where the Florentine polymath Leonardo da Vinci spent the last three years of his life. Before that, the Chateau was home to Francis I or Marguerite de Navarre.
Today, the castle serves as a memorial to Leonardo da Vinci’s life and work. Many sketches of innovations that the artist imagined in 1450, some four centuries before they became reality, such as a tank, a siege bridge, and a helicopter, can be found in the basement.
You may examine models of some of these prior technologies while strolling through the gardens surrounding the castle.
