This will be followed by a visit to the leather sandal making workshop that has been supplying sandals to the island since 1976 after which you will move on to SASIK, one of the most successful women’s cooperatives in Zanzibar, to watch the women workers hand stitch and embroider elaborate cushion covers and wall hangings.
