Trolltunga Winter Day Hike


The hike to Trolltunga is long, 28 km. It’s recommended to use a guide outside the summer season which is defined between the 15th of June and the 15th of September. This is due to uncertainty related to weather, snow, rivers, and less daylight, which again have led to several rescue operations over the years. The weather changes fast at this time of the season Spring at Trolltunga is a unique experience with few/no tourists in the mountains, crystal clear air, and several meters of snow We will provide snowshoes and poles if that's required. Meeting point in Skjeggedal (P2) at 0800. Here you will meet our guide. If conditions allow us, we will be able to drive up to Mågelitoppen (P3), which will save us 4km and 400 vertical meters(!). We will serve a delicious lunch, hot drinks and local snacks. We will have breaks along the way, and our guides will show you some spectacular hidden gems. The duration of the hike is about 10-12 hours.

It would seem as though the forest is asleep during these frigid months, but with care, you are able to see tracks of the animals such as the red fox, mountain hare, and moose. This off-the-beaten-path destination remains free from the overly populated crowds of visitors, letting us explore the park in peace.

This tour is powered by dogs and their dog power! Get ready for a ride/drive on a tag sled which is attached to the front sled with 10-12 huskies ready to go! Get ready for your great journey through the wild and beautiful landscape in Alaska! The guide on the first sled will control the team so you have plenty of time to enjoy your trip petting the dogs and make great pictures on the trail. While you are standing on the runners or sitting in the sled you feel that you are a part of the team. You have to control your own sled with braking, leaning and going around corners. Winter Fatbiking in Ivalo (2 hours)

On this fat bike trip, you will get to enjoy nature and views around Ivalo village. Warm up next to an open fire while having your lunch. Riding a fat bike is super fun and you can ride it during any season! Schedule and directions: We start at 10:00 from Eräsoppi / Xwander shop (address Ivalontie 12). Please be at the shop latest at 9:45, so we have time for necessary preparations. The total duration of the trip is around 2 h. We return to the shop between 12 and 13:00. We have a pick up service for Inari, Nellim, Saariselkä and Kiilopää areas. Contact us ahead to book a transfer.
