Departure from the hotel at 9:00 am towards the parish of Camacha to observe the wicker factory and all its process. Afterwards, climb to Pico do Areeiro at 1818m, where you can observe the beautiful mountains and surrounding valleys and even the parish of Curral das nuntas, deep in one of the great valleys. Descent to Ribeiro Frio, where there is a nursery of trout that later are dropped in the brook. A visit to the center of Santana is followed to observe the typical triangular houses with thatched roof, followed by another stop in Faial. Returning to Funchal, you will have two more stops, at the belvedere of Ponta de São Lourenço and Machico. Return to the hotel by 5:00 p.m.

This tour was designed to show you all the best of the Eastside of Madeira Island. The variety of landscapes are magnificent, from the highest mountains to the coastline. You will get to know a bit of the local culture and history.

Explore Madeira’s traditional wicker sledge basket sledges on this tuk-tuk ride. The baskets express tuk-tuk ride will start in Funchal city, and end at the “Carreiros do Monte”. Starting at the Old Town, where the project of the “painted doors” is displayed and ready to be discovered and seen. This project is shown throughout the streets of Santa Maria, where numerous doors were painted by different artists giving this street a much-needed glow. This area is also known for its amazing Poncha drink, a local drink made of rum, lemon, and honey. Rua de Santa Maria is one of the oldest streets of the city of Funchal, filled with picturesque details, such as the cobblestone floors, and the façades of the old houses. Then the journey will continue towards Monte, revealing the main attraction, Monte´s church.
