Learn the ins and outs of Cambodian pottery during a ceramics workshop in Siem Reap. Led by an expert local artist, your 1 h 45 class covers the history of this ancient art form. You’ll practice methods of shaping clay on a pottery wheel and create your own Cambodian bowl and Khmer carving using various tools. Your artwork is fired in a kiln overnight and ready for pickup the following day. Bonus(esss): 1. Enjoy round-trip hotel transport to the studio by tuk-tuk! 2. Get you Potter "Diploma". 3. With guided, professional instruction, you'll have a fun and creative time making an item out of clay on a pottery wheel. I will show you how to work with the clay, get it ready for the wheel, center it, and eventually start shaping. Usually students can make either a small bowl, plate, mug or vase on their first try. You can add accents to the pieces by carving them or adding accents from clay i.e. handle. You can take the pottery home with you the same day you make them, or—if you'd like—I can fire your work, glaze it, and ship it to you fora small fee. The hours I go to the atelier are for me a source of energy and relaxation, and that’s what I’m looking for those who visit my atelier. The workshop is located 16 kilometres from Heraklion ( acces only with car ), in a unique location in the nature, with a spectacular view of Cretan mountains. The area around offers many opportunities for walking and visiting the nearby villages.

The only Kutani ceramic kiln in Kanazawa, opened in 1870 (Meiji 3). We make ceranics by manual from clay blending, shaping on the wheel to final coloring. We sell Kutani ware pottery made by our kiln, and also offer studio tours, pottery making and painting workshops. You can try your hand at the potter's wheel using Kutani ware clay. Kutani ware clay is made from a ceramic stone called "porcelain clay," which is very fine and has a unique texture. The clay is very fine and has a unique feel to it. Unlike ordinary pottery clay, it can be difficult to work with, but the potter will guide you through the process until the finished product is ready. The finished product will be sent to you in about five months.

All of our pottery experiences are one-time, two-hour sessions guided by local Santa Fe artists and geared toward travelers, newbies, and anyone looking for a fun introduction to pottery. At the end of class, students will recycle their pieces, but you need not walk away empty handed. Each student gets $15 off of a piece from our gallery, which is full of pottery handcrafted by our teachers. In the wheel-throwing experience, students will dive into the most popular method of making ceramics. Working at the wheel is a meditative, yet challenging process. In this two-hour class, our potters will take you through the process of throwing a piece of pottery on the wheel. In our hand-building experience, students will learn the ancient techniques of working with clay by hand through sculpting, coil-building, or slab-building. The slowness of these methods allow for deeper connection with the material and total freedom of expression through clay.

In this class you will learn from the basic clay source and type of ceramic, and using wheel throwing machine with the hand technique to solid the clay and form in to any shape you want. You will experimenting with 3 kg of clay and can make as much as shape you wish. Choose the best 3 one to bring home and if you want to have fully glaze and bake ceramic we can help for that. The class is held in our own factory where you can see all the tools, materials, and machinery that we use in our daily activity of ceramic and pottery business.
