In the heart of Florence, 100 meters from the Accademia Gallery, the Leonardo Interactive Museum® hosts over 70 large machines based on the Codes of Leonardo himself. Suitable for all audiences, this unique exhibition has brought joy and curiosity to millions of visitors and received appreciation and recognition for its importance by both Italian and foreign institutions for over 20 years. “Le Macchine di Leonardo”, the world’s biggest (PRIVATE) collection of Leonardo da Vinci machines is born following the  juvenile passion of Carlo (born on 25th February 1936), the founder of the Niccolai family and company. Particularly skilled craftsmen, the members of the Niccolai family have so far developed 250 different models, and 50 interactive models based on the  Da Vinci codes and on historical documents using the materials of Leonardo’s time: wood, metal, ropes and fabrics. According to the unwritten rules of Florentine craftsmen, Carlo Niccolai has passed on his passion to his sons and grandsons, who, thanks to their knowledge of new technologies have enriched the collection with new models and organised more than a hundred exhibitions all over the world in the last ten years. The exhibition is 850 square meters of exposure on three floors

Da Vinci Interactive Museum Venice Scuola di San Rocco


The Museum is dedicated to the thought and the works of Leonardo da Vinci and it is situated in the old town centre of Venice, Sestriere San Polo, at the Scoletta di San Rocco, in front of the Scuola Grande di San Rocco, 100 meters away from the Basilica dei Frari. Inside they are exposed working and testable reproductions of “Leonardo’s Machines” drawn from the famous “Da Vinci Codes”. You can consult some of his main Anatomical Studies and there is also an art gallery in which his main paintings are shown and described, faithfully reproduced through the use of an exclusive ultra high-resolution backlight technology. The exhibition is completed by many educational projections depicting Leonardo’s life and works and an original and well-stocked bookshop.


Leonardo da Vinci Museum: the Universal Genius and His Works
