As arrive at Vesuvius entrance first 30 minutes up to the crater there's a steep walking to reach the top. Hike the volcano and reach the top of it: look inside the still quiescent crater and wonder at the amazing landscape around you and the beautiful panorama overlooking the Bay of Naples. At the end of the excursion, you will be transported back to Pompeii, where the tour concludes.
