This tour only runs in the winter months from Sept 1st through May 1st. This trip will be focused on the Aurora Borealis aka Northern Lights. It offers some of the most amazing views that Mother Nature offers. There is no disappointments on this trip as you will return home with those ultimate memories and photographs of a lifetime! Our trips are not fast and quick as we love watching the lights too! Expect hours of fun, great conversation and learning how to photography the lights. For photographing the Northern Lights we highly suggest a DSLR camera with a lens that is capable of at least a f/2.8 18-35mm and a decent tripod for best pictures. The Northern Lights can be photographed with smartphones as well. But know that due to taking a time exposure, your best results will be with a DSLR camera. It can be cold (below zero), so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather conditions and have an extra camera battery. The cold temperatures can drain a battery quickly.

If you want all the must-see locations around Anchorage all in one day, then this is the tour for you! Start with an Anchorage City Highlights tour before embarking on Turnagain Arm, arguably one of the most beautiful stretches of highway in America. The Tram at Mt. Alyeska will take you up to get a bird's eye view of Turnagain and you'll enjoy a hot meal at the mountaintop lodge. Continue to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center to view Alaska's most famous animals up close. You will travel with an experienced guide dedicated to your group who will give you in depth information and share personal experiences in this amazing land! You will receive personalized service so if you would like to spend a bit longer somewhere, or make an extra stop, no problem! And feel free to ask all the questions you want about Alaska. Your guide loves to share! This will be the best possible tour option for those who like a private, personal touch.

The ultimate multi activity package: a helicopter tour, a dogsled tour and a landing on the lower glacier to explore the melt pools and crevasses. Start this adventure with a spectacular helicopter ride over glaciers and icebergs. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and mountain goats. Land on a huge snow field high on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with Alaskan sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer long. Take the dog team for an exhilarating dogsled ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush your own dog team if you want, or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team. After the tour the helicopter takes you to the lower glaciers where you will land on the hard ice between the crevasses to see the majestic blue melt pools. Total Tour time 2 hours – 1 hour on the glacier with dogsledding (aprox 30 min sled ride) and 30 min at the lower glacier near the crevasses and blue melt pools. The Turnagain Arm is a must-see any time of year, but it holds a different charm in the winter that is guaranteed to dazzle! We meet all travelers at the Dena'ina Center for pick-up, but will drop off at any Anchorage hotel as the tour ends after dark. If your hotel is not listed, please get in touch with us to arrange your drop-off location. This is a great opportunity for solo travelers as we are committed to providing excellent experiences and do not have a minimum number of participants for this tour. The only reason we may cancel is due to unsafe weather conditions.
