Tuscan Cooking Class. Cooking Class of traditional Tuscan meal from starter to dessert including a fresh home-made pasta at the end of the lesson dinner with all prepared accompanied with Chianti Wine. The maximum number of customers per lesson 15 people. The school has applied all the legal regulations for sanitizing from Coronavirus. The school provides customers with everything necessary established by current safety standards (masks, gels, etc.). I'm Katia and me and my uncle Fulvio run the Tuscan cooking class in our family farmhouse. We are 4 km far from the fantastic town of San Gimignano and we teach you how to prepare a real Tuscany meal but most important we teach you how the food should taste. Your meal will be a celebration and a fantastic time to spent in a real Tuscany family. We'll make a lot of typical Tuscany antipasti, then we prepare primi piatti, and we make one type of pasta hand made, two different sauces for pasta, and then a second course with meat.

With the help of our Chef, native to this area, you will discover the unique flavors of local cuisine as you explore our traditional lifestyle. The course includes the preparation of 4 typical recipes. We start our experience preparing the special sauce of Crostino Toscano, traditional appetizer. Then we’ll make handmade pasta: Pici, real treasure of south Tuscany. For the sauce we’ll prepare the typical Aglione, which is a tomato sauce made with a special giant garlic of the area. As dessert we’ll prepare Cantucci, traditional cookies of Valdichiana. They are very good dipped in Vin Santo, special sweet wine of our region. After this unique experience, all your efforts will be rewarded by enjoying the sumptuous meal prepared with your own hands during the cooking class. Enjoy your meal!

Other than enjoying a delicious typical lunch of local products and dishes, you will be surrounded by the splendid and charming landscape made of gardens and vineyards rows, which so quaintly characterize Tenuta Torciano Estate. The meal includes a farm-to-table lunch of local cold cuts, pecorino cheese and tomato bruschetta, followed by homemade lasagna and ribollita soup, and many other traditional dishes of Tuscan and Italian cuisine. Get ready to spend a wonderful time in the middle of Tuscan countryside!

Our picnic basket is perfect for a day trip, a walk in our olive grove and vineyard or a quiet lunch on our rooftop terrace. The ingredients are all fresh, local and high quality: fresh bread made in La Chiusa every day, typical Tuscan cold cuts, cheeses and everything you need to create a gourmet sandwich! And again olives, salads or fresh vegetables available and desserts made from our kitchen. Water and juices are always available to complete your basket. It is possible to choose the wine from the wine list by paying it separately.

Try varietals such as Brunello di Montalcino, Vernaccia, and Chianti Classico, and learn about the distinct Tuscan winemaking regions as you drink. After visiting the property and the old cellar, the experience goes on with the tasting of 3 of our wines, paired with a typical “tagliere” made just by the local and high-quality products. A simple and pleasant way to understand our story and enjoy the classical tastes of Tuscany. One of the wines will be for sure the main of the region: Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG, one of the most representative manifestations of Sangiovese grape variety.
