We'll also visit the town of "Santa Maria del Tule", its church and its market. This is a great GUIDED ride and we'll provide you with a BIKE and HELMET. We'll meet in Oaxaca city to start our journey to El Tule (45 min. ride, 10 km or 6 miles one way). We'll ride on a SAFE bike lane covered with tree shades for the most part. It's mostly flat. We'll start biking out of the city first, then towards the outskirts with views of beautiful hills, and crop fields. Once we arrive to Santa Maria, we'll take you to the tree, the colorful church and the beautiful lush gardens. Here you'll LEARN interesting facts and history about the tree. Then, we'll have time to visit the food market to grab a bite/drink and to walk around the square and gardens. REQUIREMENTS: To know how to ride a bike (20 km).

First, we'll ride on a SAFE bike lane covered with tree shades which is mostly flat. During our ride, you'll get to see the outskirts of the city and beautiful hills as we bike out of Oaxaca. After arriving to Santo Domingo Tomaltepec town, we'll get on a dirt road and start cycling uphill at some parts for the last 3 km. There will be some hills and slopes. Once we get to the lake, we'll spend some time relaxing and looking around to appreciate nature. Then, we'll bike down to Sta. Maria town and go see El Tule tree, the colorful church and the beautiful lush gardens. We'll also visit the local food market to get a delicious lunch and drinks.

The tour will begin by visiting the majestic Tule Tree, an ahuehuete that is more than 2000 years old. From Tuesday to Sunday don´t miss Mitla, a town and municipal seat in the state of Oaxaca, famous for being the site of the archaeological ruins of Mitla. Continue to Hierve el agua, it is in the heart of a steep mountain range that during the dry season is characterized by its extreme aridity. Natural beauty is not the only attraction of this site. Later we will visit Teotitlán del Valle, a community where residents are dedicated to making handicrafts on a pedal loom, with wool rugs standing out. An artisan will demonstrate how they obtain the different colors with natural products such as cochineal, indigo, etc. On the route, a stop of 1 hour will be made in a mezcal distillery to learn about the process of its elaboration in an artisanal way and we will have a tasting of this famous Oaxacan drink
