Get ready for an amazing tour in the world of organic wine: you will visit one of the oldest organic winery together with a member of the Tili Family who will explain all the process to make a fantastic organic wine. Afterwards, you can taste all the farm products during a guided tasting where you will try 5 different organic wines of Assisi DOC and Umbria IGT. The wines will be paired with warm bruschette with organic extra virgin olive oil, a selection of cheeses and salami with jams, and local biscotti with sweet wine. At the end you will receive a certification of Apprentice Winemaker! We offer pick up on request for a fixed price the pick up from the city center of Assisi or Spello or the Assisi train station.

With a winemaker as your guide; your tour starts with an informative vineyard stroll. You can ask all those curly questions, and capture some great vineyard photos. During your full day tour you visit 4-6 wineries which could include a local brewery (depending on the preferences of the group), with over 40 cellar doors to choose from, if you’ve got a favorite we’ll do our best to get you there. We generally focus on a new Zealand family owned vineyards and wineries but can also visit the small boutique and organic vineyards. This tour does not include a visit to Cloudy Bay, Fromm and Hans Herzog. If Cloudy Bay is a must see then please book our Gourmet Gold Tour or a Private Wine tour Lunch at a vineyard restaurant is always a highlight and is at your own cost. Wine Tasting at Nikoladze Wine House – A Journey Back to Our Roots Our wine tasting experience takes place at Nikoladze Wine House, a family-run winery located just a 30-minute drive from Kutaisi. Here, you’ll sample three distinct white wines, 2 red, and two varieties of Chacha—Georgia’s traditional grape vodka—one smooth and refined, the other raw and pure, distilled directly from grapes. You’ll gain insight into the traditional Georgian winemaking process, including fermentation techniques and the ancient tools still used to produce what many consider the sacred drink of Georgia. As a vineyard owner, winemaker, and a student of viticulture I can offer guests my unique experience and education. I will be able to show them up close and with hands-on experience what it takes to make wine from the soil to the bottling process. In addition, I am very close with the wine-making community in Krems which affords me the opportunity to create curated experiences for my guests. Lastly, in my 25-year career at IBM, I worked with colleagues and partners from more than 50 countries around the world, I have international experience with people of all types of backgrounds and cultures.

The tour can also be conducted in GERMAN You will get much more info hands-on with the winemaker, than with any of our other tours. The winemaker has numerous contacts in the industry and gives you a broad overview of the SA wine industry in general and assists with shipping wine abroad / exports. Vineyards walks, barrel tasting, meeting winemakers and owners are some of the highlights during the day. The tour will be include various top end producers in the SA wine industry.
