Step out on Ireland’s Medieval Mile and discover the stories of Kilkenny’s Tudor merchants in this fascinating walking tour experience. The tour departs from the reception desk at the Medieval Mile Museum and brings guests on an hour-long stroll along St. Mary’s Lane, Kieran Street, Parliament Street and the Bull Ring, returning to the museum along the High Street. The tour content will concentrate on the lives of the people that lived in the heart of the city, between Kilkenny Castle to the south and St. Canices Cathedral to the North. The wealthy merchants built their Renaissance limestone mansions along the routeway between these two imposing structures and many of these mansions survive – hidden in plain sight.

This exciting tour will focus on medieval Chester in the year of 1403. England is under the rule of King Henry IV but the rebellion of Henry ‘Hotspur’ Percy, along with his allies Owain Glyndwr and the Earl of Douglas, threatens his reign.
Our authentically dressed medieval soldiers will lead you around Chester highlighting significant events of the time and outlining the reasons leading to Hotspur rebelling against the King. You will also learn about what life was like for the soldiers living in the city, particularly the famous and skilled, Cheshire longbowmen the former bodyguards to the crown. Many visitors that come to Berlin generally focus on the 20th century, forgetting or simply not realising the other half of this history rich city. We take a few steps back and start when Berlin was called the "swap land" and end just before the start of the 20th century, the rudest way of course.
