Exhibition and awareness space on the biodiversity of the High Atlas, the Ecomuseum of the Toubkal National Park offers an immersion in nature to discover this amazing ecosystem through exhibitions and educational pathways. Located 64 km from Marrakech on the road from Asni to Imlil, the Ecomuseum of the Toubkal National Park declines through two thematic pavilions the richness and diversity of the High Atlas of Marrakech. It is open every day from 10 am to 6 pm.

You will be picked up by our driver and begin our journey to the High Atlas mountains. Our first stop will be a peaceful place where you'll be dressed in traditional Berber clothes and enjoy a camel ride. Next we'll drive to a women's argan oil cooperative where there will be a bread & oil tasting with Moroccan tea. Next stop will be Imlil (altitude 1740 m), the picturesque and lively valley which will be the starting point of our hike. It is a nice place with a fast flowing river, walnut trees and very traditional Berber villages dotted throughout. From here we will start our 2 1/2-hour walk with a leisurely stop at my charming home where you can take in the stunning view from my rooftop terrace while you enjoy a delicious Berber lunch prepared lovingly by our mothers. After lunch we'll continue our walk through the Berber villages and pass by a spectacular waterfall, after which we will find our car waiting to drive us back to Marrakech (back in the city at approximately 5:30pm).

Your driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech at 09:00 am direction to Asni Valley, the most attractive valley of the Atlas. You will discover the National Park of Toubkal, Imlil village and several villages perched above agricultural terraces. You’ll stop at the village of Imlil (1745 m of altitude) considered as the favorite starting point for hikers to explore the mountains of the High Atlas. You will discover Berber lifestyle and customs before having a one-hour walk (optional) with a local guide to the prestigious village of Armed. Back to Imlil,you will enjoy a traditional Berber meal served by the locals! Dishes consist of a Berber Tagine, Moroccan salad and homemade bread. You will have the opportunity to initiate the preparation of the famous Berber mint tea. Then you will take a short relaxing break at the foot of a hill in the village.

The charming little mountain village of Imlil is the obligatory stopping point for all hikers who wish to undertake the 4167 m of Mount Toubkal, the second highest peak in Africa after Kilimanjaro. Located 75 km from Marrakech, Imlil is also a gateway to the superb Toubkal National Park. After crossing the gorges of Asni, a picturesque village known for its weekly Saturday souk, the road continues along a green valley where the mountains, impressive natural bastions, play with colors… mid-slope nestle villages Berbers with mud houses surrounded by terraced crops. Each of the villages is nestled against the foothills of the Atlas, and built in tiers. A succession of very varied landscapes and lush vegetation. A mule ride to the village of Aremd is planned to admire the panoramic view of the Imlil valley and that of Toubkal.

They offer, in our opinion, the best mountain scenery and Berber villages within the Imlil and Toubkal National Park area. And because they stay below the snowline, they are accessible in the winter to all regardless of experience.
