Chado, a tea ceremony that has roots in Zen, was established in Japan more than 400 years ago. Its fundamental form and style has never changed, and there are still many people studying and enjoying the culture worldwide. A Tea room is a space in which people experience mindfulness, and the tea-making process provides spiritual discipline. This is a chado school licensed from Urasenke Chado School in Kyoto, one of the biggest chado schools in the world. Ms. Mika Soka Haneishi, the owner of the school is a first degree instructor of Urasenke. She has been practicing Chado for over 25 years. This is not tourism—it is rather an immersion in culture.

Learn about the cultivation methods and history of tea, a traditional Japanese drink. The main instructor has a bachelor's degree in agricultural science and has a particularly deep knowledge of soil science. He is a former tea farmer who was involved in everything from tea cultivation to processing in Kyoto. The assistant has a bachelor's degree in pharmacy and is a practicing pharmacist. You can enjoy multiple types of Japanese tea in small portions at once. With a wide variety of tea flavors and aromas, you are sure to find your favorite.

You will experience the Japanese culture Tea Ceremony in the traditional tea room, which is probably not found anywhere else in Okinawa. Our experienced instructor will teach you how to enter through the small entrance of the tea room and introduce each tea utensil. After that, you will move to the room where Ryu-Rei-style, tables and chairs for tea ceremony are set. At the tables, you will enjoy having Japanese and Okinawan sweets before having the bitter tea. Then, you will learn how to treat each tea tool, and finally you will make your own green tea, matcha and taste. Tea Ceremony experience while wearing a simple kimono will surely become a good memory of your trip. Our tea ceremony session is held in an authentic Japanese style room at a local house. Tea ceremony is formal, but you will also experience the feeling of being invited over for a cup of tea by a friend in Japan. This is a great opportunity for all tourists coming to Kyoto. Our group lessons have a maximum of 8 people. Our hosts and English-speaking instructors are all very friendly and want you to have a memorable time with us. We'll introduce you some history of tea and tea ceremony. You will have a chance to make a bowl of Match by yourself so you will be able to make it for your friends when you go back home. We guarantee they will be surprised and that would be one of the best souvenirs for them!! * It is also possible to prepare a chair instead of sitting on the Tatami floor if you prefer. Suitable kimono options are available for women and men, and you receive guidance on how to wear the provided kimono. Once you have donned the kimono, your tea master starts the tea ceremony. The tea ceremony instructor will explain the culture and history of the tea ceremony and then make tea for you . In the end, you can experience making tea yourself. This package includes green tea and Japanese sweets,（two of each） with ample time for photo ops.

With the help of our tea instructor, experience the authentic tea ceremony. First half of the lesson will be tea ceremony. See how tea instructor use the utensils and conduct the tea ceremony. Matcha tea and sweet will be served and learn how to drink with proper manner. Feel free to ask any questions. In the second half of the lesson, try "Bon Ryaku Temae" the simplist tea ceremony for beginners. Learn the name of the utensils in Japanese, learn how to arrange them on the tray, learn how to whisk Matcha tea.

Would you like to brew your own delicious tea? In most tea ceremony workshops, you are not allowed to handle tea utensils. However, in the hands-on classes we host, you can actually touch the utensils and learn the process of brewing tea from scratch. The instructor is a master of the Higashi Abe school. They have taught many students, so they will gently and carefully teach you how to make tea. You are also welcome to take as many pictures as you like to make your experience memorable. We hope you will make your trip to Japan a memorable and enjoyable one.

Table Tea Ceremony is a new cultural experience to enjoy tea ceremony sitting on a chair at a table instead of sitting on the floor. In the first half of the session, after an explanation of how to enjoy tea, participants will enjoy matcha green tea and seasonal Japanese sweets prepared by the instructor. *Wagashi changes with the seasons. In the second half, participants will actually experience making and serving tea using a tea whisk. By experiencing table tea ceremony, you will gain a proper understanding of Japanese tea ceremony culture and knowledge about matcha and etiquette. The original tea ceremony involves sitting in seiza, which is very tiring, but you can experience it in a modern way with a table and chairs. Kajal is the chef and she’s based in Mumbai. Coming from a traditional Indian family, she learned cooking these authentic recipes from her mother and her older sister. In 2017 she started food tours. In this cooking class, you’ll learn how to make a traditional paratha and masala tea. Indian tea also known as chai is milky & rich, deeply colored, very hot, and boldly flavourful with a need for sugar to offset the toasty bitterness. The Masala Tea (Chai) is delicious Indian milk tea made with a blend of spices such as ginger. Parathas are the highly popular unleavened flat-breads made with flour, salt, butter, and water and are eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner in India. As we are bringing this authentic experience to you from our small home in India, we hope you understand that we are not able to deliver professional-level videography, but will do our absolute best to bring you an incredible cooking experience and share our culture with you!
