Join us to visit the beautiful mountain resort town of Hakone. Nestled in the mountains, Hakone is a place of natural and artistic wonders. Visit Owakudani to see the ever-rising sulfurous gasses from the active volcano that provides heat to the many hot springs nearby. Try the area’s famous black boiled eggs; turned black and infused with the minerals from the spring. Ride the rope way down the mountain to Lake Ashinoko for a beautiful view of Mount Fuji. Sail across the lake to visit the Torii gate by Kuzuryu shrine to the area’s 9 headed dragon deity. If you are an art fan, try visiting one of the many art museums in Hakone. Spend a day on the stunning Kepler Track, one of NZ’s most rewarding day walks! You can’t beat a walking track that’s been built with the purpose of showing off the very best features of Fiordland. The Kepler Track was custom-built for pure hiking pleasure. Its alpine vistas, rugged high country, deep gorges and tall beech forests make the Kepler one of our favourite NZ Must Do’s. Kepler Track highlights Climb to the peak of Mount Luxmore, 1472m, for a birds-eye view of Lake Te Anau & the town. Explore the stunning stalactites and stalagmites of the Luxmore Caves and soak up the beauty of grand alpine views that stretch on for miles. Hike through golden tussock high country and tall Beech Forests; and at night, listen for the sound of the morepork, a tiny native owl, or shrill whistles from the Brown Kiwi. The quintessential Fiordland hiking experience!

Visit Poienari Fortress, the real Vlad Tepes' Residential Castle and we drive on Transfagarasan highway, built as a strategic military route, is the second-highest paved road in Romania and considered by some to be the most dramatic. Driving on Transfagarasan Highway as know as "the Road to the Sky", "the Road to the Clouds", "the Best Driving Road in the World" and even "A spectacular Monument to Earth-Moving Megalomania"! IMPORTANT: !!!Due to some construction works on the road, the tour might take longer than usual!!! Transfagarasan road is open in 2024 between June 7 – October 31! When the Transfagarasan road is closed (November 1 – June 30) we drive up to the Balea Waterfall (no visit of Poienari Fortress and Vidradu Dam). If the weather conditions allows, we take the cable car up to the Balea Lake (extra 20 euro/person). We visit the ruins of the Cistercian Abbey of Carta and the amazing Sambata de Sus Monastery, also.
