Boat tour Ortigia and Syracuse sea caves


We will start from the Ortigia canal and leave the small port to go towards Syracuse sea caves, we will visit the caves of the capuchins, the corals, the heart and the stalactites. Subsequently we will return to the island of Ortigia to circumnavigate it, admiring the moments and telling geographical/historical information about the city of Syracuse. They return from the large port and we will return again to the Ortigia canal where we started. During the tour it will be possible to see some points of interest from the sea such as: the cathedral of the cathedral, Fonte Aretusa, Castello Maniace, the eastern seafront, the western seafront, the Marina, the Sanctuary of the Madonna, and the Bourbon prison, etc. It will also be possible to take a short 10 minute swim break.


Syracuse & Noto – Day Tour from Taormina


Departure to Siracusa. The visit begins with the Neapolis archeological park, the most characteristic part of the old Greek city (Greek theatre, Latomia del Paradiso, Ear of Dionysius and Roman amphitheatre). Continuation to Ortigia with the remains of the earliest Greek constructions and visiti of the Cathedral and the Fountain of Arethusa. Time free for lunch and proceed with the visit of the ancient town of Noto, the capital of baroque style in Europe. Return to Taormina.


Etna and Taormina (departure from Syracuse area)


The largest active volcano: Mount Etna. Through a beautiful landscape arriving to 1900 mt station. Visit of the Silvestri’s Craters, now extinct. Optional ascent to the area of the main crater with cable car and jeep. Free time for lunch. The trip continues to Taormina, a charming town located in a stunning setting between the Mediterranean Sea and Mount Etna. Free time for shopping on the main street, and wondering around the narrow streets and alleyways.

The first stop will be at the Neapolis, the archeological area of the city. Here you will have free time to admire the roman amphitheater and the impressive and solemn Greek Theatre, the biggest in the island and one of the biggest in the world, entirely carved into the rock. You can also visit the Ear of Dionysius, an artificial cave placed right under the Theatre. It is called this way for its ear shape and also for its acoustic properties. Afterwards, the driver will drop you off in Ortigia Island, the ancient historical centre of Syracuse.
