This tour is unique in that you hike (moderate level) in old-growth forest along Snoqualmie River for a few hours to view a gorgeous cascade of falls, Twin Falls followed by viewing another beautiful fall that we drive to – the famous 270-foot tall Snoqualmie Falls. The warm water stays at 38-40 Celsius all year. In the whole area there are several geothermal spots and a little Geysir which erupts every 5 minutes, showing off for the guests relaxing in the hot spring. Poás volcano is a powerful symbol of the geothermal forces that formed Costa Rica. Water from the lake is constantly seeping through cracks in the hot rock, evaporating and building pockets of steam. When the pressure in these pockets exceeds the weight of the water above, the steam breaks through in geysers that rocket up to 820 feet (250 meters) high. Don’t worry about getting a shower though, the crater is 1,050 feet (320 meters) deep. At almost a mile (1.6 km) across it’s also the largest active crater in the world. New safety features have been added to protect visitors in case of particularly heavy activity.

Jigokudani Yaen-koen is home to hundreds of “snow monkeys”, known as such because they spend their days soaking in the mountainous hot springs. On the Tatio Geysers tour we will leave San Pedro de Atacama at dawn towards the Altiplano, climbing the hills and mountains of the Andes Mountains. After 1 hour and a half of travel, we will arrive at the Geysers, a unique natural spectacle in the world, with 80 steaming geysers at an altitude of 4,200 m. Next to this natural setting, we will enjoy a replenishing breakfast, and then tour the geothermal field, surrounded by numerous columns of steam. Also, it is possible to visit the rustic pool that is within the same field, although at the moment it is not allowed to bathe in the thermal pool. On the way back to San Pedro de Atacama, we will make a stop at the Putana River, where we will observe the native flora and fauna of the place.
