Walking with a small company and with a very small group will make you enjoy this 4- to 5-hour activity on the Ponta de São Lourenço peninsula. The Ponta de São Lourenço Trail is a popular hiking trail located in Madeira, Portugal. It is situated at the easternmost point of the island and offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. The trail is approximately 8km long and takes around 3-4 hours to complete. The terrain is rocky and rugged, with steep inclines and declines, making it a moderately challenging hike. However, the stunning coastal scenery and diverse flora and fauna along the way make it a rewarding experience. This tour captures Aguas Clara's New set of locks located on the Caribbean side of the canal and built-in 2016 as a part of the so-called Panama Canal expansion to welcome the giant ships(new Panamax) through the Panama Canal. We will stop by the visitor center so you can appreciate the transit of these mega-ships on their way to the Pacific or the Atlantic Ocean. Then we will make our way through San Lorenzo Park, a rainforest full of flora and fauna, Sherman's former military base, until we reach the San Lorenzo fort.

The trail follows S. Lourenço Point, the eastern-most peninsula of Madeira island, named after the caravel sailed by João Gonçalves de Zarco, one of the three discoverers of Madeira island. The semi-arid climate and its exposure to North winds have sculpted the low vegetation and explain the lack of trees, which distinguish this area from the rest of the Island and is a veritable natural heritage. Here you can see the Island’s basal plate at its best and several rare and endemic plants. Of the 138 species of plant identified on the peninsula, 31 are endemic (exclusive) to Madeira island. In terms of fauna there is one of the largest colonies of seagull in the region. Along the route you can often see several bird species. In the sea, you may be lucky enough to spot the world’s rarest seal, known in Madeira as a Sea-wolf (Monachus monachus). On the horizon to the South you can see Ilhas Desertas (Deserted Islands) and to the North the Porto Santo Islands.

Dare to do a minitrekking in the Perito Moreno Glacier! I lived the experience of walking on the glacier. This unmissable experience begins in the “Bajo de las sombras” port, within the Los Glaciares National Park. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours and you will be able to enjoy the ice formations; learn about the flora, fauna and glaciology of the region; and, especially, on the phenomenon of rupture of the glacier. Being a moderate walk, on an irregular but firm surface, it can only be done by people between 08 and 65 years old, due to its physical demands. Neither can pregnant women or people with reduced mobility, arthritis, prostheses, knee problems, meniscus problems, overweight people, or people with heart problems. The activity does not include food, so you must bring your own lunch and a bottle of water (There is no possibility of buying food anywhere).

The boats are small and comfortable, so you will have better viewing, having 6 to 8 people per panga.
