Our guides carry first aid kits, & our local trauma doctor is equipped to handle seal bites & vaccines are available. Spend quality time with one of the world's most exotic animals. You trek with your own llama, who walks on a lead, at your side, while carrying your belongings in saddle bags. Llama are highly intelligent, clever animals = requiring that you get to know them (and work with them) to successfully complete your trek. The subtle 'bond' you form with your llama companion is highly rewarding. You experienced guide will help you get to know your woolly companion. Your guide will also share a range of local Kaikoura history and information, including the extraordinary effects of the 2016 earthquake (the largest ever recorded in New Zealand) You do not ride your llama.

It is an amazing sight to get up close to the Cape Fur Seals in their natural environment. One can observe them sunning themselves on the rocks, dropping into the ocean from the rocky ledges, lazing in the water, or putting on an acrobatic show. The colony is made up of over 8000 seals and our experienced guides who are passionate about the ocean and its marine life, will give you a full run down on the seals making it super informative and fun for the whole family. We take you on an exciting and scenic 20-minute boat ride to Robberg Nature Reserve and on the route there is always the possibility of dolphins or whales passing by. All other companies want you to use or find your own transport to Walvisbay and Pelican Point, we include transport and we will pick you up and drop you off at any accommodation along the coast. We include a light lunch and local drinks. We use new modern unsinkable Kayaks easy for anybody to use and that do not capsize. Everybody gets a life jacket and the guide will coach you on the use of the Kayak. No previous experience required. Its a must do for the active traveler.
