Very famous for its historical importance, today it is known mainly for the delicacies of the white truffle, for wines and our cuisine! But many people don't know that the city of San Miniato has a really interesting history behind it and hides places and alleys that we are sure will win you over! We will accompany you to discover these places telling you stories, legends and anecdotes that not everyone knows!

The uncontaminated nature, the relationship with my sweet dogs, the silence of the forest interrupted only by the singing of the birds. All this surrounds the discovery of one of the oldest and most secret professions in Tuscany: that of the truffle hunter. Due to its underground nature, its delicacy and its enormous economic value, the truffle has always fascinated man, playing a leading role in Tuscan culture and tables. In order not to be seen and to arrive before the others, truffle hunters often go at night to look for truffles, and it is no coincidence that in the Corazzano valleys one night in 1954, the largest truffle in the world was found weighing 2520 g. During the truffle hunting experience we will travel the paths where truffles naturally grow. All the secrets about the truffle, the plants that live in symbiosis with it and dog training will be explained; and if we are lucky we will also be able to find some nice truffles

Enjoy a 2.5-hour walk starting from Ponte Vecchio up to Piazzale Michelangelo. You would need to wear comfortable shoes and bring some water with you. The way up to Piazzale Michelangelo is not a difficult  walk. Amid green gardens up on a stone centuries old staircase, it is definitely worth to hear the stories told by your private guide and enjoy the amazing views.
