Friendly for beginners, come as you are because equipment and gear will be provided. Hop on one of our tandem kayaks in a pair or with our Expedition Leader, and you are set for your adventure! The journey begins with a short length of open sea kayaking before entering the mangroves. You will immediately notice a sharp difference between the choppy open sea waves and tranquil calm waters among the mangroves. Do not be fooled by the peacefulness as inactivity because the mangroves are abuzz with wildlife! For bird-watching enthusiasts, you will be able to spot species such as the Kingfishers, Eagles, Hornbills, Herons and Egrets – and that is just to name a few.

Hope on a bumboat and head to Pulau Ubin, an island off the northeast of Singapore. Considered the last kampong (village) in Singapore, one is transported back in time to life in the '60s, where water is still drawn from wells, stoves fired by wood and lights powered by generator. Starting from the southern end of Pulau Ubin, hugging the coast and traveling westward, heading to Ketam Island. As we come close to it, we will pass by the popular grey herons in their calm and resting state, experience the serenity of paddling at sea and enjoy the winds that brings us forward. Midway through the island, we get to view the mangroves that connect the 2 parts of Ketam Island together. It is here that we get to see different mangroves and their characteristics. Our friendly adventure leaders will be able to point these areas out to you along the way! You might even spot the occasional water monitor lizards chilling out or otters swimming by. No prerequisites required for this adventure, and this is truly the ideal challenge for those looking to push their physical boundaries. Not to worry though, our experienced leaders are here to help you and will tailor the speed of the journey according to your limits.

Pulau Ubin is an island with cycle trails and footpaths criss-cross the hills, going past disused granite quarries and traditional kampongs (villages). Kingfishers and Bulbul birds inhabit the tidal flats and mangroves of the Wetlands. The Jejawi observation tower and a looped boardwalk offer views of this area. Besides getting to experience what life is without modern technology, we will run around, arouse your senses, reconnect with nature. We will explore the Sensory Trail, where you may learn to recognize different herbs and spices using your 5 senses in this experiential trail. As a bonus, you will learn all about various insects we are encountering too.
