During two hours and 30 minutes, we’ll be cruising along the Coast of Lagos and the famous rock formations of ‘Ponta da Piedade’. These impressive and dramatic rock formations have taken on their distinctive forms after many years of being sculpted by the crashing waves of the beautiful surrounding waters. Our boat has cushioned seats with back support and confortable stairs to get in the water. In the midle of the trip the captain drops the anchor, and you will have the possibility of swimming in a sheltered bay.

Kayaking is the most popular activity in the Algarve. It is an area full of beaches and caves. On this 2-hour and 30-minute tour, you will paddle across our beautiful Atlantic Ocean and explore the caves and beaches of Ponta da Piedade always accompanied by an experienced guide.

Walking with a small company and with a very small group will make you enjoy this 4- to 5-hour activity on the Ponta de São Lourenço peninsula. The Ponta de São Lourenço Trail is a popular hiking trail located in Madeira, Portugal. It is situated at the easternmost point of the island and offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. The trail is approximately 8km long and takes around 3-4 hours to complete. The terrain is rocky and rugged, with steep inclines and declines, making it a moderately challenging hike. However, the stunning coastal scenery and diverse flora and fauna along the way make it a rewarding experience. At 947m above the sea level rises Pico da Barrosa, where throughout the route we can observe the diversity of the local fauna and flora. An enormous crater hides the glamorous Lagoa do Fogo at the top of the Fogo (Fire) Volcano at 575m above sea level. The beauty of the scenery sharpens ours senses with the luxurious vegetation – some endemic – from a spectacular landscape that reveals the magnificence of what nature presents us, on a journey that will last in your memory.

The trail follows S. Lourenço Point, the eastern-most peninsula of Madeira island, named after the caravel sailed by João Gonçalves de Zarco, one of the three discoverers of Madeira island. The semi-arid climate and its exposure to North winds have sculpted the low vegetation and explain the lack of trees, which distinguish this area from the rest of the Island and is a veritable natural heritage. Here you can see the Island’s basal plate at its best and several rare and endemic plants. Of the 138 species of plant identified on the peninsula, 31 are endemic (exclusive) to Madeira island. In terms of fauna there is one of the largest colonies of seagull in the region. Along the route you can often see several bird species. In the sea, you may be lucky enough to spot the world’s rarest seal, known in Madeira as a Sea-wolf (Monachus monachus). On the horizon to the South you can see Ilhas Desertas (Deserted Islands) and to the North the Porto Santo Islands.

This is definitely the best way to see as much as possible of São Miguel in a day. The way to go on your short stay, or if you want a throughout introduction to the island before exploring it on your own. To make the experience comfortable and minimize spending hours driving, you can choose to cover the West (Sete Cidades, Mosteiros, Ferraria hot springs) and Center of the Island (Lagoa do Fogo, Vila Franca, Ribeira Grande, Tea and Pineapple plantations; etc.); or the East (all of Furnas area, Ribeira dos Caldeirões waterfalls) and the Center. You will cover a lot of beautiful roads and views along the way – lush green fields, cows, flowers, ocean and cliffs, and plenty of stops to enjoy them. Bathing on hot springs or stopping for lunch is possible although expenses are not included, and please note these activities take about 1h30 of the itinerary. Enjoy a scenic walk to Fogo Lake, one of the biggest and most beautiful lakes on Sâo Miguel Island. This lake is only reachable on foot.
