This tour takes you to Aveiro considered by many as the "Venice of Portugal" which is famous for its large network of canals running through the city. In this Tour you will also take a cruise on a "moliceiro" boat (a traditional boat from this city) which will take you along the channels as you admire the city’s unique tile facades. You will also have the opportunity to see the colorful houses in Costa Nova. Aveiro has a rich and varied gastronomy, and the “soft eggs” – a very sweet desert are also one the main representations of Aveiro.

Welcome to Boiler Studio. Here we work as a team! Vacations and leisure time are for relaxing, socializing, getting to know the city's culture as well as meeting other people. In this tile painting workshop you can experience a little of these realities, because this experience is developed so that you don't have any degree of experience, just that you feel good. Enjoy and take a part of Portugal with you, the best souvenir you made and that you will remember like your tile. Oh, and during your activity you will also enjoy one (or more) cocktails with a variety of choices ranging from the famous Port Tonic to a glass of champagne.

In this Azulejo tile glazing workshop, you will have the opportunity to create your own beautiful tile in the traditional Portuguese style and materials. No prior training is needed, and with the help of our expert tutors, anyone can do it The workshop will take place in our ceramic studio, where you will get the chance to see the creative process and the artworks of multiple contemporary ceramic artists. Come and join our creative crowd! Because we use the traditional technique – your tile will need to be fired in a special ceramic kiln after glazing. Finished tiles can be picked up after several days at our studio, or we can mail it to you for an additional fee. (Europe – 15 euros, USA 25 euros per parcel with tracking number).

Besides tasting, learn the history behind the dishes. On this tour will be trying some of Porto’s most alluring ‘petiscos’ (at least 9 food portions), some of the local drinks (5 drinks) and most of all, to end up in the best way, the sweets! During the tour we will talk about curious aspects of the food we try, and about the rich history and present of Porto. In the end you will have an excellent perspective of Porto, and (hopefully) go with excellent memories! The maximum group size for this 3.30-hour tour is 10.

Through this activity guests will learn the brief history of the Maltese traditional tile and will have the ability to create their own tile from scratch (including the base) which they can use either as a coaster or a decorative piece, or else giving it as a small gift to their relatives back home. This is meant to create an element of interactivity and authenticity to the souvenir. The workshop is run by a professional Art teacher, and forms part of the activities run by a local non-profit organization catering for the culture and the arts.

Guests will be provided with a blank white tile and various patterns and designs to choose from. The patterns will be traced onto the tiles then filled in with acrylic paint, which dries much faster than ceramic paint and doesn't require being fired in a kiln. Guests can then take home their tiles the same day!

You can choose a design from my selection of traditional Turkish patterns . This class will help you appreciate all of the tiles that decorate the mosques in Istanbul. I will teach you how to transfer the design onto the tile, and how to use ceramic paint to fill in the pattern. For Turkish tiles, they need to also be glazed and fired in the kiln.
