Visit the highest volcano in the country with 3432 meters high above sea level. Then, visit the city of Cartago, the former capital of Costa Rica where a stop is made at the Basilica of the Virgin of the Angels, a place of pilgrimage for many faithful. Then, explore the Lankester Botanical Garden, created for the protection of more than 800 species of orchids. Continue to the scenic Orosi Valley, one of the important settlements during the colonial era. You will visit its colonial church, followed by a delicious traditional lunch in the area.

On the top of the volcano you can observe the main craters and on a clear day Pacific Oceans and Caribbean Sea. As we descend to the city of Cartago we will stop at the Virgin of the Angels Basilica that according to religious custom is a peregrination site for many believers. Surrounded by rainforest and lush vegetation, La Hacienda Orosi has been blessed by mother earth with nascent thermal mineral water. These rich springs of mineralthermal “telluric” waters (non-magmatic or volcanic ), are filtered between the layers of the earth and spring in the middle of the rainforest at more than 65 degrees Celsius.

This is a unique chance to sport a lot of the local nocturnal wildlife of the Valle Orosi in Cartago. This is a great area to see Frogs, Owls, Viper snakes and many other types of animals like the amazing Cacomiscle or the really nice kinkajou. This tour lasts about two hours off in the forest watching our tropical Fauna.

We will stop for a typical Costa Rican breakfast and take you to the river by private car. Once we have arrived to the Pejivaje River, you will be greeted by your guides and given instructions to keep your group safe while enjoying the thrill of the river. It begins at 8am and finishes at 5pm. I am experienced driver who will take you and help translating Spanish and English. All entry tickets are included as well as lunch and coffee afternoon, also cool water during the trip. I pick you up in your hotel and come back to it at the end of the trip. As my car's capacity is for 4 tourists, the tour is almost private, although it is still possible that you share it with someone else.
