Crowds are low until the route joins the Machame route near Lava Tower.

All your equipment and supplies are carried by porters and a cook prepares all your meals. Unlike the Marangu Route where you sleep in huts, on the Machame you sleep in tents (tents are included), and the porters will pitch your tent for you. Meals are served in a dinner tent or on a blanket outside. MARANGU ROUTE 6 DAY begins and ends at Kilimanjaro Mountain Resort in Marangu. Arrive anytime at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), there will be a private transfer waiting at the airport to pick you to Kilimanjaro Mountain Resort in Marangu. Sometimes called the Whisky Route, one of the popular ones on Kilimanjaro but in the same time consider to be difficult route. This is a popular route up steep paths through magnificent forests to gain a ridge leading through the moorland zones to the Shira Plateau, It then traverses beneath the glaciated precipices of the Southern Icefields to join the Barafu Route to the summit. Accommodation on the mountain is in tents which the porters will pitch for you. You will need a sleeping bag, warm clothes and walking poles. This is a steep, tough trek within the limits of a fit individual used to walking in mountain areas.

The Lemosho route is one of our top recommended route due to its low traffic, beautiful scenery and a high summit success rate. The Lemosho route starts off from the west, beginning with a long drive from Arusha to Londorossi Gate. From there, the first two days are spent trekking through the lush rainforest to Shira Plateau. We recommend a minimum of 7 days to attempt this route but 8 days is preferable for better acclimatization and summit success. The Lemosho route joins the Machame route at Shira 2 Camp and then follows the same route through the southern circuit and descending at Mweka Gate.

This route is a superior option for trekkers seeking a quiet route away from the crowds for the first two days trekking and it provides impressive views and a variety of scenic habitats.
