Our Small-Group Trip to Libearty Bear Sanctuary from Brasov will take you from the city to Libearty Bear Sanctuary in Zarnesti. The driver will take you to the Sanctuary, there you will meet the guide from the Sanctuary which will take you inside and explain you what is happening in this awesome place. The tour with the guide from the Bear Sanctuary takes about one hour and represents a walk along a forest path of approximately two kilometers. This way, you will discover the stories of the bears that are now living in the sanctuary, the purpose of this place and you may ask questions. The bears’ want to tell you something: This is not a zoo! It’s our forest. Please respect it! Do not throw us food, because we don’t need it! Do not use the flashes! They bother us! Do not eat or drink in front of us! It’s rude! NOTE: Children under five years are not allowed inside the “Libearty” Bear Sanctuary, for safety reasons, for the smooth running of the visit and for the welfare of the bears.

Lying some 25 kilometers north of Brasov, we find the "Carpathian Delta". This is a protected area of 415 hectares of wetlands, which include habitats such as water surfaces, streams, marshes, grasslands, farmland, and peat bogs. This special place is home to more than 200 species of birds, including protected species such as Botaurus Stellaris, Eurasian Bittern, or Ardea Purpurea, Purple Heron Furthermore, this area contains Transylvania's highest number of Black Stork (Ciconia nigra), Great Egret (Ardea alba), and Greater White-fronted Goose (Anser albifrons). You will be taken from your hotel in Basov by a professional guide and you will go to the most spectacular road in Europe – Transfagarasan. We will stop first and visit the Carta Monastery built in the late Gothic style, by the Cistercian monks who came to Transylvania from Burgundy – France. Transfagarasan Highway is the most spectacular and beautiful mountain road in Europe, enough to feature on the UK motor show Top Gear, Transfagarasan Highway might just be “the best road in the world” as Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson claimed. It's a road going up in the mountains and unites Transylvania with Valachia. During the winter, between the months of November and July, we will go up by van to the hotel Balea Cascada 1446, from where we will take the cable car (from here up the road is closed due to snow).
