During the activity, you will explore and enjoy one of the museums; the Naval Museum of the Caribbean houses among its walls the cultural and historical richness of maritime traditions of Colombia, which originated in the city of Cartagena de Indias. With more than 400 historical artifacts, numerous models and easy-to-understand educational resources, it promotes the protection of the country’s underwater cultural heritage and highlights the role that the Colombian Navy played in shaping and consolidating the national identity. In addition, the Naval Museum of the Caribbean is an architectural gem composed of two large wings: the Republican and the Colonial, separated by two beautiful courtyards. One of them is the courtyard of Los Jesuitas, where the Liberty Bells are located, and the other is the courtyard of San Carlos, which contains a collection of historic cannons, is an anchor called the Admiralty Anchor, all with great historical and cultural value

The classes will be led by experienced instructors, with at least one fluent English speaker available to assist with communication. GOD 2- MILITARY HISTORY OF CARTAGENA Shore excursions


On this tour, an expert guide will take you to back in time to the city beginnings. The first encounters between the invading Spanish and the indigenous calamari natives. The attacks perpetrated by different pirates, privateers (corsairs), buccaneers and philibusters throughout the colonial period. We also explain how independence wars prompted Colombia to start building its military force that later became known as Fuerzas Armadas de Colombia, the national army. We will visit: Naval Museum, San Felipe fortress (castle), Las bóvedas. In each one of them, we also touch on the recent history of Cartagena as part of Colombia conflicts with guerrilla groups, drug trafficking (Medellin and Cali Cartels), Paramilitary groups, constitutional amendments, Extradition in Colombia, Narco guerrilla as well as Colombia´s peace talks and agreements.
