The objective of this unique programme is to give the tea lovers all around the world the unique experience of producing their own tea from the tea plant to the cup. The Lockhart tea factory is famous for its Orthodox Tea produced in the traditional way. The museum includes a living factory which was built in 1936 and a tea sales outlet and tea-tasting sections. We drive about 43 kilometers to Anakulam via Lekshmi mountain (road) . The unspoken feel of beauty and serenity together meet at a forest locked village called Aanakulam. Elephants dally here in large social groups in human inhabited areas, which is something unique about this scenic spot. Two tributaries of Periyaar, namely, Idacholayaar and Nallatanniyaar wets and nourishes this land. The trek will start at the height of 1420 meters MSL (approx), we will start through the tea plantations for about 60 to 90 minutes, After reaching the top of the hill, rest of our couple of hours trek will be on the ridge which offers beautiful views around, it will be through grasslands, one side will be rocky mountain slope and the other side will be tea plantations, patches of Shola forest etc…, in a clear sky day we could see the Anaimudi “highest peak in S. India” and the water reservoir of Idukki Dam which listed as highest arch dams in Asia and third tallest dam in India. We will have refreshment/picnic lunch at any suitable place during the trek, our trek we will be through Nature Zone where we can see some of exotic spices like Coffee, Cardamom, etc…, Will have another 60 minutes to 01.5 hours walk through the tea plantations to finish the trek, highest point of this trek will be about 1950 meters MSL (approx)

We will have refreshment with some fruits and snacks, our trek we will be through Nature Zone nature resort where we can see some of exotic spices like Coffee, Cardamom, etc…, After will continue our Walk to the most top peak (2000 mtr) then will walk back through shola forest about 10 minutes to tea plantation. Will have another 90 minutes to 120 minutes walk through the tea plantations to finish the trek, highest point of this trek will be about 2000 meters MSL (approx).

This is a village life experience guided tour which is explored for about 2 to 3 hours by walking. The tour begins from Old Munnar by walking on the way to Lakshmi Tea Estate where you can feel the fresh air with the beauty of green tea plantations with a wide variety of other trees and plants. While walking through the plantations you can see a river flowing and three different temples on the way and also the Chokanad Tea Factory can be seen. Then walking through a narrow way takes you to the CSI Church Munnar, which is more than 100 years old. The Church is always open for visitors. The tour is finish at Munnar CSI Church.

We were driving into the middle of nowhere in the dead of night, along small bumpy roads, with barely enough space to move, and a canopy dropped over the sides so we couldn’t see outside.
