From Morogoro the most popular route is to Morningside, an old German mountain hut to the south of town at about 1000m (about two to three hours on foot). The path starts at the Regional Administration buildings about 3km south of the town centre at the end of Boma Rd

Unique to the Ulugurus are over 100 plants, 2 birds, 2 mammals, 4 reptiles and 6 amphibians unknown elsewhere in the world. There are also a large number of additional species shared only with one or two other Eastern Arc mountains, and hence globally rare. Endemic species include African Violets, Impatiens, and Begonias which are popular pot-plants in the rest of the world.

Lubanga peak located in Uluguru north, east-south of Morogoro town at 2138m above sea level. The trail is steep, which starts at the end of Forest Hill Road, at Kibwe village passing through farmland and into the nature reserve along a ridge up to the peak. On a clear day, there are good views towards the eastern side of the Uluguru, also there is a German tower built at the peak which is used for viewing distant places. A walk to the peak may be dangerous in the wet season. It is recommended to use a local tour guide. On the way you can be able to see birds like Livingston Turaco, Silvery cheeked Hornbills and others. The peak is located in the Uluguru Mountain.

Choma is a Traditional village about 8 kilometers from Morogoro town (6-7 Hours go and return). At Choma village, you might visit the waterfall where you can swim in the cool water after a long day walk. Selous Game reserve is the largest protected wildlife area in Africa, due to unique ecological importance this pristine uninhabited area was declared as “World Heritage Site” by United Nations in 1981. It is Africa’s greatest conservation area and covers a wide variety of wildlife habitats including Lakes, open grassland, acacia and Miombo woodland and riverine forests, which help the reserve to boast Tanzania’s largest and most important population of Elephant, Buffaloes & Wild Dogs. The topography of the park varies from rolling savannah woodland, grassland plains and rocky outcrops cut by the Rufiji River and its tributaries. Game drives along the edges of the lakes, river and bushes are an extra attractive conjuring up a special magic as the sun goes down over the lakes.

Mikumi National Park is grass land national park with very good visibility. There is 100% to see the following animals:- Elephant, Buffalo, Giraffe, Zebra, Antelope, Hippopotamus, Crocodile, Baboon and Birds. There is 90 percent to see Lion and 75 percent to see Leopard.
