This self-guided audio walking tour covers Carmel-by-the-Sea’s three mission areas: Mission Ranch, Carmel Mission Basilica, and the Mission Trail Nature Preserve. QuickCoast travels to one of the most pristine reefs on The Great Barrier Reef. We snorkel two parts (east & west) in separate snorkel sessions. See vibrant corals and clams with a possibilities of a vast variety of marine life including turtles, stingrays, reef sharks, and a vast variety of fishes including clown fish. After two sessions we visit Dunk Island on our return from the reef for an hour and taken ashore by our skipper for a quick history of the island and shown different types of beach walks available. Douglas Preserve is home to much wildlife including the endangered Kite Hawk! If time permits we drive through historic Hope Ranch Mansions Drive. We end along Shoreline Park for more photos of the sea and city, then on to Santa Barbara’s famous Harbor for a beautiful stroll along the Breakwater, looking out across the sea and full view of the city.
