Wieliczka Salt Mine, a Material Culture World Heritage Site, attracts over 1 million visitors every year and is among the most eagerly visited tourist sites in Poland. The historic Salt Mine is located about 10 km from Krakow and is on the first UNESCO World Heritage List (1978). The current mine was established ad the turn off 18 and 19 century (though mining history reaches antiquity here). The tourist route goes through the most interesting places in the mine that consists of 22 chambers which are connected by salt pathways of lenght about 3 km. Chambers are located at depth 64 to 135 meters underground.

Two of the most important tourist centers in the city of Cusco are Maras and Moray. In these places, you can appreciate parts of our ancient culture through its different stages, including pre-Inca, Inca, colonial, and republican periods. During the tour, we will visit the Salt Mines or Salineras, which consist of approximately 2,000 small pools fed by a salty spring that flows from the mountain. We will also explore the Moray Archaeological Complex, a unique archaeological site in the region. It consists of giant natural depressions that were used by the Incas, who built agricultural terraces or platforms with irrigation channels, essentially creating a prototype of a greenhouse.

Wieliczka Salt Mine is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It illustrates the historic stages of the development of mining techniques in Europe from the 13th to the 20th centuries.
