Come explore lower Manhattan on two wheels! Cycle around Manhattan’s southern tip, climb uphill into the City Hall area, then up onto the Brooklyn Bridge itself. This will be a steady climb of about 15 minutes, stopping at the Brooklyn-side tower of the bridge for photos. You’ll be about 160 feet (about 50 meters) up. It's completely surrounded by the calm waters of the bay, an oasis of peace at only 8 km from the busy harbor area and my favorite part of the city where I lived for more than 20 years. I recommend a visit to the biggest and swarming open market of the city, called São Joaquim to dive into the daily live and habits of the locals and discover some secrets of the Candomblé, the African religion. We visit neighborhoods like Ribeira, with fantastic views on the Bay of All Saints and its small marinas and the possibility to taste the best ice cream of the city! Then the famous church of Nosso Senhor do Bonfim, a unique place for pilgrimage where you can still feel the syncretism between Catholicism and Candomblé. Finally the Fort of Monte Serrat and Ponta de Humaitá, the most romantic spot in Salvador with the possibility to see one of the most wonderful sunsets of Brazil!

Scottish artist Susan Philipsz (born in Glasgow in 1965), renowned for her installations exploring the sculptural and emotional dimensions of sound, has been invited to create a new work for Luxembourg's Aqua Tunnel, a unique site forming part of the city's urban heritage. She explores the sculptural and emotional dimensions of sound through her immersive installations. For the LUGA 2025 edtion, and in collaboration with MUDAM, she has been invited to create a site-specific work for the Aquatunnel – a 900-metre-long underground passageway running beneath the Ville Haute, connecting the Pétrusse valley with the Pfaffenthal district. Originally built to collect wastewater, the tunnel was also designed for civil defence purposes, a dual function that plays an important role in Philipsz’s sound installation The Lower World. The Lower World, a sound installation composed and recorded by the artist, is transmitted through loudspeakers positioned at intervals throughout the Aquatunnel.
