The Melting Point is a new, state-of-the-art facility featuring a fine art gallery, a lamp working studio and fully equipped hotshop. We eat, sleep, and breath glass, and it's our delight to share this passion with the community. Our staff is as diverse as the beautiful Sedona desert landscape. Coming from a broad range of educational backgrounds, our glassblowers can tell you everything you would ever want to know about the science and art of glass.

You will create a marvelous glass artwork with one of the most famous craftsmen of Venice: Massimiliano Caldarone. You are going to discover the secrets and techniques of glass-making art while you personally realize a unique item. A class with a celebrated Venetian craftsman who will teach you how to create a unique glass artwork, following the old Murano techniques. These procedures are known as lamp-work and it a typical venetian style to realize magnificent glass items. The master artisan will help you, step by step, during the whole experience to make you make your personal and inimitable glass masterpiece that, at the end, you will bring it at home as a special souvenir.

Create an art piece that can decorate your room with a gentle light! In this workshop, you will create An Origami lamp and Mizuhiki knot belt. LED light passes through washi paper, gently lighting up the space with a very soft light. It brings pressure to both the eyes and the heart. You will fold and glue several sheets of handmade washi paper in a bellows-like manner. Inserting a small lamp inside the bellows-like washi paper, the ramp shines with gentle and warm light. Additionally, you will create a mizuhiki knot ornament for the belt. At the end of the session, we offer Japanese sweets with "Japanese paper tea" that is not offered elsewhere. Surprise yourself with a new, unique decoration!  In this workshop, you will learn to create Art Nouveau-style plants, flower and other motives from stained glass. For this, you will learn how to do the famous Tiffany Technique, that is used to make Tiffany lamps.  You can (but don't have to) bring your own sketch to the class. Depending on your idea, you will cut out 5 to 7 pieces of glass, grind them and put them together with copper foil. Our glass artist will help you soldier them. We are able to arrange an individual class to create bigger pieces as well. You can take your decoration home with you right after the workshop .
