After being picked up from a convenient central Melbourne CBD location in air-conditioned comfort on this full-day tour, your first stop will be the picturesque Emerald Lake in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges where you will have the opportunity to purchase your own lunch and enjoy a leisurely walk around the Lake. Then it's all aboard the world-famous Puffing Billy Steam Train. The train winds through the hills and finishes at Belgrave. Then it's off on a scenic drive to the next stop The Nobbies to take in the vista of this iconic lookout. Next it's time to visit the Phillip Island Wildlife Animal Park where you can purchase dinner before watching the adorable penguins emerge from the rolling waves and make their way home into their burrows.

Walk alongside Penguins on Magdalene Island and navigate Marta Island


Walk alongside thousands of penguins on Isla Magdalena and see the diverse fauna of Isla Marta Cruise the Strait of Magellan to the Magdalene and Marta Islands. Magdalene Island hosts over 40,000 penguins each year and Marta Island hosts over 1,500 sea lions. We begin with this unique adventure, after checking in at our office, we head towards Bahia Laredo by transfer to embark on speedboats; for 45 minutes towards Magdalena Island, where we will disembark 1 hour with our guide to know the natural habitat of the Magellanic Penguins, in the largest colony in South America. We continue our journey to Marta Island to see Sea Lions (weather permitting), imperial cormorants and hundreds of southern seagulls. Then return to the pier and Punta Arenas. We'll also have a chance if luck goes with us to be able to spot Southern Dolphins, Overa Tonins and Sei Whales.

Then witness Victoria’s largest colony of little penguins in the nightly Penguin Parade. As dusk falls, hundreds of little penguins splash out of the water onto the beach, making their way to their burrows. They feed at sea and return to their burrows to mate, care for their young and to moult.

Beagle Channel Sailing Tour: Birds, Seals & Penguins Islands


We begin the navigation with a panoramic view of the Ushuaia coast, spotting the most important buildings, the Maritime Museum, Museum of the End of the World, the industrial area, and the Olivia and Cinco Hermanos mountains. We sail to the southwest, approaching the island of Los Lobos, where we can enjoy the view of specimens of sea lions, observing their permanent habitat. Continuing the navigation, we will head towards the island of Los Pájaros, habitat of Magellanic Cormorants and Imperial Cormorants, and a privileged sector to see specimens of marine birds. We continue sailing towards Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, in the archipelago of the same name. On these islets it is possible to see parts of Monte Cervantes, a ship that sank in 1930. Arriving at Isla Martillo, we observe how the colony of Magellanic Penguins that nest during the summer season approach the boat with notable curiosity, enter the sea swimming below the catamaran and re-emerge.
