Excursion to discover the most beautiful baroque cities of Eastern Sicily, declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You will visit Ragusa Ibla, with its alleyways and beautiful churches; Modica, famous around the world for chocolate prepared according to an ancient Aztec recipe; During the visit there will be a sweet break in a famous workshop, where the chocolate is still prepared according to the original recipe, imported from the Spanish people in 1500. Tour in the workshop and then tasting of the famous chocolate of Modica.

The Barocco transfer includes: Departure at 8.30 am, arrival in Ragusa Ibla 10.00 am (stop of about 2 hours). Departure for Modica – during the journey we will make a small stop of about 40 min. for a tasting of the famous Modica Chocolate. Departure for Noto (stop of about 2 hours + lunch break). Return to Syracuse. Our cars are registered for public use, equipped with the required municipal permits and have free access to limited traffic areas and to preferential lanes in all cities. Called “The Garden of Stone” is known for its elegant buildings and intricate architectural elements. The walk through the city with our guide allows you to explore this beautiful city. The next stop is Modica, a city rich with historical buildings and a remarkable culinary tradition. Modica is also known for its chocolate, which you can taste, enjoying its unique and intense flavours. The final destination of our Baroque tour is Ragusa Ibla. The quaint passageways, the splendid buildings, and the Hyblean Gardens create an idyllic and cinematic setting.

This experience includes the self-guided tour of the Baroque cities. The tour lasts 8 hours and includes transport only, you will have about 1 hour and 30 to visit each city. You will meet your driver in Syracuse and start the tour with a visit to the beautiful baroque city of Ragusa Ibla. At the end of the visit, among breathtaking landscapes made of large canyons, steep cliffs and wooded areas of olive groves and carob trees you will continue to Modica where you will have free time to visit this beautiful village and if you want you can have lunch with the famous "scacce Ragusa", you can also have a chocolate tasting for free. As a last stop you will go to Noto called "honey city" and where you can visit beautiful churches. You will be sent a small booklet with all the necessary information about the places you will visit and small tips to fully enjoy these cities.

RAGUSA Ibla/MODICA: Free visit of Ragusa Ibla, the oldest part of the city, where most of the Baroque churches and buildings are concentrated. You will visit the Portal of St.Giorgio, the Hyblean Garden, the church of S. Giuseppe, Palazzo Arezzo, the Circle of Conversation and the Splendid Cathedral of San Giorgio. Continue to Modica, the ancient capital of the county of the same name. Starting from the scenic Cathedral of San Giorgio, located in the upper part of the town, through picturesque alleys and steps you will reach Modica Bassa to visit the baroque church of San Pietro, Palazzo Tedeschi, the Garibaldi theater. The first stop of the tour will be Ragusa Ibla: old and Baroque city where you can admire numerous eighteenth-century churches and buildings on which important sculptors and architects have worked. Another jewel of the Sicilian Baroque: Modica. You will visit the town and you can live a real journey into the tradition of Sicilian cuisine (the lunch is optional). We will head towards the capital of Baroque: Noto. You will visit the Cathedral of San Nicolò, whose construction began at the end of 1600 and the most important building which is Palazzo Ducezio, seat of the town hall, built in 1700.  A few steps away there is Via Nicolaci, famous throughout the world for the Infiorata.

TOUR OF MONTALBANO: Visit through the places of the famous commissioner Montalbano, which represents the Sicilian doc, is an unmissable opportunity to recreate the atmosphere of the film, discover hidden corners of the extreme south and to savor the tastes, ways of life and the Sicilian traditions. the tour includes visits to the beautiful Sicilian Baroque cities, which are also World Heritage Sites (UNESCO) we will leave Syracuse (preferably in the morning) with first stop in Noto, nestled among the rolling hills of Sicily, characterized by its sumptuous Baroque palaces and imposing churches, living testimonies of the art and architecture of the period, we will then go to Modica, which with its intricate alleys and majestic churches, enchants visitors with the opulence and grace of the Baroque, expressed through ornate facades and refined decorative details (it will also be possible to visit the Modica Chocolate workshop and there will also be a stop for free lunch), finally we will go to Ragusa Ibla to the Iblei gardens, overlooking a breathtaking panorama, capturing the attention with its Baroque buildings that climb along the slopes creating a suggestive mosaic of architectural elegance and history.

Today 8.30am be ready at pick-up location to meet our driver and departure from Siracusa in direction of Ragusa Ibla. You have the chance to explore independently the old part of the city and an undisputed reality of Baroque art. Soon after, you will discover the local Chocolate in Modica. This particular chocolate is made with a very old recipe, the one coming from the Aztecs. We then continue to Noto. In the Arab period the town was the capital of one of the three districts of Sicily (the Val di Noto) and once defeated by the Christians, Noto became a rich Norman city. Unfortunately, it was totally destroyed by the 1693 Sicilian earthquake and rebuilt in a new position nearer to the Ionian Sea. But the new Noto is a masterpiece of Sicilian Baroque! We will cross the east coast and go to see the fantastic Sicilian late Baroque. You will visit the city of Ragusa Ibla, the main location of the TV set which, thanks to the baroque wonders and the historic center of Ragusa, has been included by UNESCO among the world heritage sites. Visit of Punta Secca (Marinella in the TV series) where the famous house of Commissioner Montalbano is located. Move in the direction of Scicli where the Vigata police station where Montalbano works is located. Last but not least is Modica, another glorious Baroque city and a UNESCO heritage site. Visit to the Church of San Giorgio and the beautiful facade of Palazzo Polara which appear in the TV series of Montalbano. There will also be a typical Modica chocolate tasting.
