McCaffrey’s Estate is family owned, operated and one of the smaller producers in the Hunter Valley creating premium, handcrafted wines. The vineyard consists of 11 acres under vine and produces a variety of wines including, Sparkling, Semillon, Verdelho, Chardonnay, Rosé, Merlot Cabernet, Cabernet Franc, Shiraz & Fortified Wine

We don’t stick to a formula and we’re constantly doing research. As long as we get great feedback from our guests, you might visit boutique, new, large, small, old, and/or unique wineries. We want you to enjoy the best of the Hunter Valley, with unique wine encounters that are not available to your average walk-in wine-taster. We’re not about just taking you to a cheese or chocolate tasting, we think you deserve more. On top of cheese/chocolate and wine pairing exercises, we’ve worked with some of the Hunters best wineries to craft a range of mystery experiences especially for our guests. These are designed to build your wine knowledge while also getting you involved with the process and allowing you to learn what makes Hunter Valley wine unique.

Explore the stunning Hunter Valley wine region, by indulging in some of its best flavours on this day tour picking up in the Hunter. The Hunter Valley has some of Australia's best wine, food, cheese, chocolate and spirits and we’ll try them all on this tour as we visit 3 wineries, and a distillery. Each stop includes a guided tasting by a local supplier with behind the scenes tours at select locations. In addition to all the great local producers we visit, the tour also includes a relaxed with a wine, craft beer or cider to allow guests to take in the Valley’s charm. Free pick ups are from accommodation in Lovedale, Pokolbin or Rothbury. Pick ups can be provided outside of these locations but charges may apply.

ITINERARY This unique exploration of the Hunter Valley region provides a variety of food and wine experiences to showcase the best of the regions local produce – there is something for everyone! We will sample a range of wines from our favourite Boutique cellar doors, selected for their commitment to excellent customer experience and quality wine – with two tastings before lunch and one in the afternoon. At lunchtime, we enjoy a delicious cafe lunch. Alternating between the lovely "The Winner is Oscars" and beautiful "Cypress Lakes Country Club" we allow plenty of time to relax and get to know your fellow travellers. After eating you can browse the bespoke collection of boutique shops. After a relaxed paced day of sipping, sampling and slurping our way around the valley, we will start to make our way back to the hustle and bustle of Sydney.

The Grains & Grapes has everyone’s tastes covered! Asides from all the beautiful wines, tasty beers & hand crafted produce, Dave’s works hard to take you behind the scenes of the production houses to meet the makers & get a true sense of the region. We’ll always include a tour of a vineyard, winery or both on our tours. We also try to only visit small family run wineries so our guests get to meet & chat with locals to really appreciate & understand what goes into what they are tasting.
