Originally, Spinalonga was not an island – it was part of the island of Crete. During Venetian occupation the island was carved out of the coast for defence purposes and a fort was built there. We will start from Rethymnon around 8.30am. Our first stop on this excursion will be at Knossos. The Palace is conected with thrilling legends, such as the myth of the labyrinth with Minotaur. Our next stop will be Heraklion city. You will have 3 hrs free time to explore the city, visit the archeological museum, go shopping, drink coffee or have a lunch. We will be back around 18.00pm.
