Of course, not only the temple but also you can enjoy other historical places and local cuisines. Enjoy the atmosphere and walk through the shopping district loved by the locals.

Kyodo Station in Setagaya Ward is a 15-minute train ride from both Shinjuku and Shibuya. It is a quiet town with Shimokitazawa for old clothes and Gotokuji Temple for beckoning cats along the line. At a public space called Kyodo District Hall, you can experience the Japanese culture of “shodo” (calligraphy) by rubbing ink and posture. Try writing your favorite character or kanji, or your own name with kanji characters. A master calligrapher teaches about 80 students from children to adults, She will teach you in a fun and attentive manner while chatting about Japanese culture and daily life.
