We will start the day at Mt. Bental, observing Syria from a "sleeping" volcano. Then continue towards Katsrin Talmudic village – a village made from volcanic rock in the center of the Golan. we will also visit its magnificent reconstructed synagogue. From there we will head to Safed, to explore spirituality in the Jewish mysticism and Kabbalah's birthplace. We will not leave Safed before visiting its magnificent synagogues. We will end the day at Rosh Pina, a small city that was founded in the later half of the 19th century by Baron Rothschid. We will exploring it beautiful buildings and scenery, its rich history and some interesting art galleries.

Covers an area of 1800 square kilometers. During the Israelite conquest, it was part of the tribal allotment of Menasseh. Occupied by later invading powers, it was recaptured by the Hamoneans in the 1st century B.C. C. E. The Jewish population participated in the revolt against the Romans, paying a heavy price for doing so. After the destruction of the 2nd Temple in 70 C. E. Many Jews continued to live on the Golan Heights until the end of the Byzantine period in 638 C.E. Ethnically cleansed of Jews during the early Arab period (638–1099 C.E.), it remained desolate and sparsely populated by Bedouins. After WW1, it was included in the French mandate for Syria. The Syrians occupied the heights until their recapture in the 1967 six-day war. During the 1973 Yom Kippur War, the heights had to be defended against attempted Syrian incursions. Today, the heights are home to 40 000 people, 50% of whom are Jews, the remainder being Druze, and a small Alawite community.

We will start our day with visiting the biblical city of Tel-Dan – the famous capital of the biblical tribe Dan which preserves the original city gate (Iron Age) and remains of an ancient altar. Then, we will drive up to Golan Heights and stop for lunch in a Druze village (Masa'ade). Our next point is Mt. Bental, where while standing on the top of a dormant volcano, we will visit an abandon IDF bunker and look towards Syria. We will finish our day at the ancient synagogue Umm el-Kanatir, a unique example of a completely restored building, which was a spiritual home of a prosperous Jewish community that vanished in the 8 century CE.
