Llanos de Cortes Waterfall To start your day, we will take you to Llanos de Cortes Waterfall in Bagaces, where you can relax and take a swim at the falls or walk around exploring the flora and fauna. Rio Celeste Waterfall Hike – Tenorio Volcano National Park Upon arriving at the entrance, you will go on a 2 hour moderately difficult hike in the park.  You will walk through the rainforest and along the Celeste River where you can observe one of nature's most intriguing phenomenon. Organic Farm – Sloth and Frog Sanctuary After lunch, take a tour on a rural organic farm! You will be taken on an inspiring and educational walk, showcasing natural wonders such as tropical plants, flowers, birds, sloths, frogs, snakes, insects and many more animals that inhabit the farm.

Our tour takes place on trails adjacent to the tropical forest. First we will visit a frog sanctuary where Red-eyed frogs abound. Then we will walk through trails to see more species of amphibians and surprises from the jungle. The concert offered by the frogs will accompany you throughout the tour!

This tour is ideal for those who want to take advantage of every minute in Costa Rica, discovering some of the country’s nocturnal wonders in a night hike. We will begin our tour in a small town known as La Tigra, located just 30 minutes from La Fortuna. Once we arrive, we will take the trail in to a small patch of rainforest in the process of regeneration with some mirrored lakes, which facilitate wildlife observation. You can expect to see species like nocturnal birds and mammals, insects, amphibians, bats, and more.

Departing from La Fortuna (Arenal Volcano), Tamarindo Beach, Flamingo Beach, and the Papagayo area, the tropical rainforest in the Tenorio Volcano National Park and magnificent turquoise blue Rio Celeste waterfall awaits us. A local expert guide will company you. On the drive, it's possible to see three active volcanoes all in a row while traveling through three different types of forest. We will briefly stop to admire the 400-year-old Tree of Peace (Árbol de La Paz). We'll cool off in the Celeste River by taking an hour-and-a-half tubing tour down the blue river and stoping in several places to swim and snack on fresh regional fruits. After tubing, we will have a typical lunch and return along the best route to viewing wildlife, such as two types of sloths, colored frogs , monkeys, exotic birds, and much more. On the way back we will stop at the Souvenir Market and then return to your resting place.

Get up close and personal with various wildlife found in the Gamboa rainforest region. You will be able to feed some animals as they approach to your boat, snatch food from your hands. Discover many other wild animals including crocodiles, toucans, sloths, iguanas, turtles, and numerous exotic birds. We will also visit a sloth sanctuary, where you can observe these intriguing creatures in their natural habitat.

Live the rainforest from another perspective, 60% of its animals are active at night, come and enjoy species that you can only see when the sun goes down. On our famous Guide-Assisted Tour you will experience being surrounded by butterflies while going through our four large Butterfly Exhibition Habitats, including a Live Demonstration of the Butterfly Life-Cycle and the Amazing Metamorphosis, but you see so much more on this tour. The Conservatory is a Forest Creation Project demonstrating natural rainforest regeneration in the Arenal area of Costa Rica, and now many Tropical Species of Animals and Birds are finding habitat in our sanctuary. In the Habitat for Exotic Frogs and Turtles, you will see some of the Poison Dart frogs and other species of amphibians from the Arenal rainforest. You choose the trails through the forest, with your Map of the Project and Encounter your Awareness of Nature walking through the Botanical Gardens and Medicinal Herb gardens. In the Reception Center is a large collection of unusual Tropical Insects in our Insect Museum, and a souvenir shop with Jewelry and framed art made with butterfly wings.

Diamante is home to a large variety of Costa Rican animals that are in need. Some of the animals in our care have been born in other wildlife management programs for scientific and educational purposes; others are rescued and placed in our management by the authorities of Costa Rica. These animals are not fit for life in the natural environment and are cared for by a large team of qualified and dedicated professionals. Diamante is known for its world-class habitat designs that address the needs of each species. The unique design of the habitats allows guests to view and learn about key aspects of biology, ecology and natural history of the animals.
