El Tuito

This guided adventure seeks to introduce the visitor to the true essence of Mexico by walking the paths, roads, and sidewalks of this sleepy 400+ year old farming and ranching village named El Tuito. Meet at 9 am in the Romantic Zone. The hour long bus ride will first be along the very scenic coast of the bay. After 30 minutes or so the bus will turn inland following a scenic river up a winding small mountain pass and then descend into the small pastoral valley and hundreds of years into the past. We will stroll through the "main street" as we make our way to the historic central plaza where we return several hundred years into the past among the charming rural colonial buildings. We will make special visits to the church, city hall, art galleries, and a number of other shops and food vendors. There are several amazing lunch options in town. We will depart around 3 pm. Bonus included is Tequila Tasting Experience back in PV where you will will have option to taste at least 10 tequilas.

Don't wonder the Garden aimlessly alone. Tour with our experienced local guide with a biology degree from the University of Guadalajara. We will spend up to 2 full hours touring the different planting beds, nursery, and gift shops. This includes the Vanilla Plantation, Orchid Houses, Begonia House, Cactus House, Rhododendrons House, and aquatic plant pools. Guide will lead discussions and make commentaries based upon science, Mexican history and Mexican mythology. After the tour you have several options to see more on your own including visiting the river and swim. Or travel to the historic town of El Tuito visiting the old picturesque main plaza. Or you may even return to Puerto Vallarta after the tour in the company of the guide. Lunch available at the award winning restaurant at the gardens called Hacienda de Oro. Join us for a surf lesson with convenient pick-up and drop-off. We'll choose the surf spot based on conditions and your level. Start with beach stretching, surf technique, and safety instructions. In the water, I'll guide you step-by-step, ensuring safety and helping you catch waves. Learn ocean dynamics, wave selection, and positioning. After 2 hours, you'll catch waves independently with my guidance. Gain valuable ocean knowledge and surf condition insights. Optional stop at a restaurant on the way back.

Starting from the city center, we will take a city bus to a fishing village. From there, we will walk along the coast and through the jungle to reach Colomitos Beach, Madagascar Beach, and Las Ánimas Beach. We may spot birds, iguanas, and whales during the winter season. An experience full of nature and adventure!

Located one hour away from Puerto Vallarta is El Tuito, settled in the green mountains of Cabo Corrientes municipality. The mountains surrounding El Tuito are a transition zone for various bird species, many species in southern Mexico and Central America have their northernmost limits in this region. Climate here is temperate throughout the year and among the vegetation of the area conifers are abundant as well as oaks and walnuts, along with various fruit trees that provide food and home to the wide variety of birds that we can find here, among which stand out the yellow grosbeak, the blue mockingbird, the elegant and the Citreoline trogon and the endemic flagellated flycatcher. We will walk through the town of Yelapa a beautiful place among the mountains of the Sierra Madre Occidental and along the El Tuito River, this colorful town is far from Puerto Vallarta. We will have the opportunity to explore a town surrounded by nature, where we can get to know its main waterfall and if we are lucky to see any wild animals.
