Tara River is formed by the merging of two rivers, Opasnica and Veruša.This river is known for its clean water as the “tear of Europe“. With a length of 146.4 km it is the longest river in Montenegro. Its clear and icy water can be drunk in any part of the stream. The last 25 km of Tara river and the canyon represent the most attractive part for rafting with beautiful landscapes and 20 most exciting rapids. Tara canyon is the deepest in Europe (1.333 m deep), and the second in the world after the Colorado canyon in America. The largest part of the Tara River, including its canyon, is under the protection of UNESCO as part of the Durmitor National Park since 1977, and it is one of the 25 most important natural sights.The river and the canyon abound in natural phenomena, cliffs and rapids. Excursion " Canyons of Montenegro" is very interesting, because you will see a big part of Montenegro. Departure is from Budva, and along the way, you will see Skadar lake, the capital city of Montenegro-Podgorica and after Podgorica is break for breakfast. The road takes us through the canyon Moraca(1200m), and there will be a few photo breaks. Next stop is monastery Moraca(XIII) century(40min). We will continue to Biogradska gora, national park and visit Biograd lake(40min). After that we will have lunch break. Afterwards we are moving to Tara River Canyon(1333m), the deepest canyon in Europe and the second deepest canyon in the world after Colorado canyon in America. Next you can see the unique Durdevica Tara bridge, the tallest bridge in Balkan(160m), pause(30min). Next you will visit national park and mountain Durmitor and Black lake(60min). Return to Budva at 21:00h. Recommendation: for the monastery visit it is reguired to cover shoulders and knees.

In this tour we will visit one of the most distant villages in Montenegro- Mala Crna Gora, the village at the highest altitude in Montenegro, which is largely snowed most of the year. Then we descend into the canyon Sušica, where is Sušica lake, and there is also a mountain lodge. We continue the trip by jeeps to the village Nedajno and then over Piva mountain continue to the village Trsa. So, we'll make the ring around Durmitor, and on this occasion we will enjoy the view of the Valovito, Modro and Pošćensko lake. We'll also enjoy in the view of Prutaš, which is one of the highest peaks of Montenegro, whose conquest is a real pleasure (2 393 m). Also, we'll see Bobotov kuk, the highest peak of Durmitor, at 2 523 m. We must take pictures of that beautiful scenes. Over Sedlo we descend on Jezerska plateau and the ski center Savin kuk. Durmitor is a mountain and national park in Montenegro. It is believed that the name Durmitor originates from the Celtic word that means "a mountain full of water ". Durmitor, which, by its beauty and integrity, is a rare and authentic part of nature, was declared a national park in 1952. Bobotov kuk 2.523 meters high is the highest peak of Durmitor mountain massif. It is also the highest peak of Montenegro.
