The Blue Heron Fleet was established in 1955 by Capt. Harry Nagel. The fleet has been family owned and operated with the third generation currently at the helm. Blue Heron offers excellent year round fishing at a great price. The vessels are the largest and most comfortable in the area. Vessels are custom built aluminum drift fishers that meet and exceed the United States Coast Guard regulations. The cabins offer cushioned seating, settees for catering, and clean men’s and ladies restrooms. Both our locations are minutes from prime fishing grounds 20-40 minutes away depending on which hot spot is producing fish catches. The fare includes rod, reel, bait, tackle, and fishing license. The crews have years of experience ensuring your families safety and enjoyment. Two half day excursion departing daily. No reservations necessary. Blue Heron specializes in private charters for family, business, and corporate events with the options of fishing or cruising. CORPORATE CHARTERS AVAILABLE

Shared fishing charters will have between 8-25 passengers on the boat. This is the perfect fishing trip at a great value if you want an option in-between the party boat with 65 people and the private charter.

The emphasis on our tours is fun. Our local reefs are quite prolific and in order to keep them that way, we vary the spots we choose to fish and throw back anything but the best 'keepers'. We maintain a full range of professional level equipment and tackle appropriate for the local environment. We've also added some new power-assist rigs so we can deep drop in water over 1,000 feet. You keep what we catch, within reasonable limits, for the personal consumption of guests on the charter. We do promise though, that guests get first pick of the catch. The crew will clean the fish for you but unfortunately, we cannot assist with packing and shipping fish off the island.

Fishing in Bahamas crystal clear waters offers the unique experience of seeing fish before they are caught. Catch yellowtail snappers, mutton snappers, Spanish mackerel, kingfish, barracudas. During the month of October we troll the continental shelf for wahoo at a speed of 10-11 knots. The season runs from October to February. During the month of August we fish for blackfin tuna, yellowfin tuna and skipjacks. Also you can catch-and-release blue marlin.

Our boat is fully SOLAS compliant with all the right safety equipment to deal with any emergency. Professional and friendly local crew. We fish responsibly and prefer catch and release but we don't mind if you take a fish or two (within reasonable limits). We will even prepare your catch for you to take back to your hotel or resort.
