Watch the jugglers, beautiful belly dancers with swords and live snakes, listen to medieval music but be careful–every now and then a sword fight flares up. So hold your jug of beer or goblet of wine and hope a musketeer does not challenge you to a duel! While you eat a rich, 5 course dinner – enjoy the show that plays throughout the entire evening. Founded in 1950, the Rajkó Folk Ensemble’s members have been dedicated to staging authentic Hungarian folk dances and preserving Hungarian folk traditions as a professional folk ensemble for more than 70 years. Watch a real Maiko, an apprentice Geisha, perform up close. With only about 40 Maikos left in Kyoto, seeing one is a rare and special experience. Their numbers decline each year, making this opportunity even more valuable. Kyoto is the only place where you can experience the authentic world of Geisha, don't miss this chance! To begin the show, the Maiko will perform a traditional dance, which lasts around 5 minutes, the usual length of most Maiko performances. After 2 dances each around 5 minutes, there will be time for a Q&A, photo-taking with the Maiko, and a chance to play a traditional Japanese game together. Please note the following for the show: 1. No outside food or drinks — please keep them in your bag. 2.Socks are required — if you don’t have any, our guide will assist you in buying them at 7-Eleven. 3. Kagura troupes from all over Hiroshima Prefecture take turns performing the traditional Hiroshima Kagura performing arts each week. The performances are based on Japanese mythology and classical literature, and performers in gorgeous costumes perform magnificent dances to the rhythmic accompaniment of music. There are also English subtitles, allowing people from overseas to feel closer to traditional culture. The backstage tour will take place after the show, and will include commentary by members of the troupe and a chance to socialize with them. You can try on costumes and masks, take commemorative photos, and even ask questions directly to the members after they have finished dancing. Enjoy this special experience limited to 10 people.
